Hello everyone, my name is Abbie but most of you probably know me as goose and I would like to apply for social media secretary.
Being part of the hockey society I have met great friends that have helped with the transition from school to uni life. Being given this role would allow me to help the next groups of freshers settle in as much as I have and I would like the opportunity to be a member of the committee to give back to the club. I think that we should promote/ raise its profile that hockey is a welcoming society no matter age or ability.
Since joining hockey not only have a been running around on the pitch, I am a regular on the side lines at Dale cheering on our teams but also on the dance floor at Popworld.
If I got this position I would like to focus on all of the teams successes off and on the pitch and report more score lines after the matches and highlight individual players successes. As I will be in my second year of uni I will have the time to make posts that keep people more updated on upcoming events so for matches we can have a strong Hallam crowd cheering on all our teams and have high numbers at our social events.
Even tho I feel it is important everyone is included if there was was a member who wished not to have there photo/ information shared on any social media platform, I of course would respect their wishes and keep it confidential as I understand everyones right to privacy.
Ultimately I want to make this next year an enjoyable one for every single member of the society. As this year has been amazing and long may it continue.
